Get the Look: Moody Bedroom
Rooms that don’t get a lot of natural light are perfect candidates for creating a cozy and special atmosphere. Lean into the darkness, install dim lighting and bring in rich, saturated colors to give the space a moody vibe.
In our client’s home, the guest bedroom was located in the basement and didn’t get much sunlight. It was the perfect opportunity to bring in color, pattern and rich textures.
They key to creating a moody atmosphere is to use saturated colors, pattern, mixed textures and reflective surfaces. The more eclectic the decor, the more moody the vibe will be. In this bedroom, we paired the beautiful patterned wallpaper with a dark baseboard, and dark furniture. The ochre velvet curtains bring a beautiful pop of color in the room.
